The world of wine
Vinitaly 2023, all the events and coordinates of the most important Italian wine event
One hundred thousand net sqm, seventeen fully booked halls, four thousand Italian wineries: these are just some of the figures of this 55th edition of Vinitaly 2023, the most important Italian wine event
There are so many Vinitaly events to enter in your diary. We have summarised them here for you so you will not miss even just one important meeting.
The unmissable events
Vinitaly will take place at Veronafiere next 2-5 April, an important event preceded by Vinitaly OperaWine on 1 April, with 130 flagship wines of Made in Italy selected by Wine Spectator (access by invitation only). Vinitaly and the City is back in the historic centre of Verona from Friday 31 March to Monday 3 April, with many events and talk shows in the company of producers, like the one hosted by oenologist and journalist Sissi Baratella at Cortile Mercato Vecchio.
A total of 80 tastings scheduled, a number is constantly updated (check vinitaly.com for more details), including the Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri 2023 walk-around tasting (on Sunday, 2 April) and Orange Wine (3 April), as well as the Doctorwine selection (2 and 3 April).
The four theme areas
Even this year, the main theme areas are at the Exhibition Centre and are:
Vinitaly Bio, the exhibition dedicated to certified organic wine, now at its eighth edition (Hall F – Organic Hall)
International Wine Hall, with guided tastings offered by companies from 17 countries, including France, Lebanon, and South Africa (Hall D)
Vinitaly Mixology, a space dedicated to masterclasses with leading bartenders and cocktail creation workshops (PalaExpo on the second Floor)
Micro-Mega Wines, the selection dedicated to the best Italian wineries with small production volumes and with rare grapes (Hall F – Organic Hall).
Vinitaly that has the flavour of a rebirth after the years of the pandemic and a 2022 that was still below par due to the then current COVID-related restrictions. So leave your face covering at home, this 55th edition already smells of business, good energy and, especially, of good wine.
